The Professional Standards Unit ensures that allegations made against members of the Westminster Police Department are thoroughly and objectively investigated. The Professional Standards Unit of the Westminster Police Department will preserve this pride and the public's trust and confidence by conducting thorough and impartial investigations of alleged employee misconduct, providing proactive measures to prevent such misconduct, and by maintaining the highest standards of fairness and respect towards our citizens and employees. The Westminster Police Department takes pride in being a highly professional police organization. The Professional Standards Unit is responsible for receiving, processing, supervising and controlling investigations that involve allegations of criminal conduct and acts of misconduct involving members of the Westminster Police Department. Failure to appear at your Administrative Hearing will result in fine forfeiture. If no Administrative Hearing is requested, the results of the Initial Review become final 21 calendar days following the mailing of the results of the Initial Review. To schedule an Administrative Hearing, call the Processing Center at 1 (800) 781-7241. You will be notified of your hearing date and time, should you choose to appear in person. Please include two (2) copies of the first two pages of the most recent year's tax returns with your application.Īdministrative Hearings can be conducted either in person or by mail. You may request an "Application for Financial Evaluation" form by calling 1 (800) 781-7241. If you are unable to deposit the parking penalty, you must provide written proof of your inability to pay the amount due. Checks/Money Orders should be made payable to the "City of Westminster" and include the citation number and the vehicle license number. The request must be accompanied with a deposit in the amount of the parking penalty. If you are dissatisfied with the results of the Initial Administrative Review you may request an Administrative Hearing of the violation no later than twenty one (21) calendar days following the mailing of the results of the Initial Review. If you are contesting a citation, there is no payment necessary until a final Notice of Decision has been made on your citation. Results of the Initial Review will be mailed within approximately 45 days. Written requests for review should be mailed to the processing center at: When contesting a parking citation, please remember to include your citation number, vehicle license number and all relevant information you believe supports your case, including copies of supporting documents and any photographs (not returned). You must contest your citation within the first twenty one (21) calendar days following its issuance by requesting the review form in person or in writing. If you received a parking citation issued by the Westminster Police Department and believe it was issued in error, you may request an Initial Administrative Review of the citation. If you have questions about wildlife removal, contact the California Department of Fish and Game at (858) 467-4201. Animal Control is restricted by the California Department of Fish and Game to remove healthy wildlife from private or public property. If you are reporting mallard ducks, please keep in mind that they are federally protected birds and in most cases cannot be removed. ![]() ![]() If you are uncomfortable or uneasy trapping wildlife, you may contact a licensed private animal trapping and removal service found in your local yellow pages or online. Animal Control will not relocate healthy wildlife that has been trapped. Residents are able to trap wildlife in humane traps and relocate it themselves. Once the animal is properly confined, call Animal Control at (714) 548-3201 for pick up. If it is able to be handled safely, you may place it inside a transportable container such as a sturdy box or carrier. If you are reporting injured wildlife, it must be confined placing a box or other such item like a laundry basket over it. Animal Control does not respond to calls regarding wildlife unless it is deceased, injured, or orphaned.
